#SafeBySouthwest, an initiative of Studium, a non-profit in Austin, Texas, promotes community dialogue and provides resources to make the annual South By Southwest festival a safe and positive experience for all.
We designed #SafeBySouthwest’s logo to be simple and neighborly, something that was easily recognizable online and in partnering storefronts and venues. We came up with this hug (!), featuring playful type and a friendly blue color. In its first year, #SafeBySouthwest utilized the logo in a social media campaign featuring advice from Austinites about everything from hydrating in the Texas sun to safe bike routes home.
